After emptying our small 8 gallon/30 liter whisky barrels, we cut the tops off and repurposed them into rustic garden barrel planters. The barrels are approximately 15 inches high and the diameter of the top opening is 13 inches. The staves are screwed into the top metal band to maintain the integrity of the barrel.
